Throughout the years, Nash has seen the amounts of clothing sent to the cleaners diminish. From 6,000 pieces daily in 2008, the plant now processes only 5,000 pieces a day. This change has brought about a change in the dry cleaning process as well: each worker now does a specific task, and some tasks are being carried out by machines, like packaging the washed and dried clothes. The dry cleaning solvent is being reused, another measure to make the process more efficient. But personal attention is just as important, according to Nash. Although the customers often “don’t even realize what we do”, what matters is that they “notice the nice quality that they get”. And that, says Nash, is “all that matters”. Read more.
